Embed code is not saved when emojis exist
-
Hi,
Thanks for your greate plugin, it really helps to solve the embed problem for the social medias for classic editor user. There is only one thing which I hope can be improved in the future. When there are emojis in the embed code, they can’t be saved in the custom field, I have to manually remove the emojis then only it can be saved. Sample codes as below:
<blockquote class="tiktok-embed" cite="https://www.tiktok.com/@shuibsepahtu/video/7120892464201764122" data-video-id="7120892464201764122" style="max-width: 605px;min-width: 325px;" > <section> <a target="_blank" title="@shuibsepahtu" href="https://www.tiktok.com/@shuibsepahtu">@shuibsepahtu</a> Siakap sawah 😂🪱 <a title="pershuibofhappyness" target="_blank" href="https://www.tiktok.com/tag/pershuibofhappyness">#pershuibofhappyness</a> <a title="fyp" target="_blank" href="https://www.tiktok.com/tag/fyp">#Fyp</a> <a title="belut" target="_blank" href="https://www.tiktok.com/tag/belut">#Belut</a> <a target="_blank" title="♬ original sound - Shuib Sepahtu" href="https://www.tiktok.com/music/original-sound-Shuib-Sepahtu-7120892499144559386">♬ original sound - Shuib Sepahtu</a> </section> </blockquote> <script async src="https://www.tiktok.com/embed.js"></script>Any method to solve this limitation?
Thanks.

I suspect this is something that WordPress itself is doing, rather than my plugin, as I use the built-in custom fields for adding the code.
I’ll look into this further. If it is this plugin I’ll fix it – otherwise, I’ll look to see if there’s an alternative method (which may help the various people trying to use this with form builders).
I’ve added this to the issues list… https://github.com/dartiss/code-embed/issues/53
