• I hate doing Education Zone theme updates, because they break my website every single time. I thought I had figured out every issues I knew I’d have to deal with after an update, but the latest update added a new one, and I can’t figure out what’s going on. My custom menus for logged in vs. logged out appear in the Appearance -> Menus settings page exactly as before, but after conducting an update from 1.1.9 to 1.2.1, all my site pages show up in the nav menu, regardless of whether logged in or out. I tried deleting the custom menus and then re-creating them – no luck.

I’ve reverted to a backup using 1.1.9 for now, but I can’t update the plugin until I figure out why it’s breaking the nav menu. Hoping someone might know what’s going on.

  • Hello @mdeyerinkc,

I am sorry to hear that you are having an issue on the site after the theme update.

Can you please send me the screenshot of the issue that you are having with the nav menu before and after the update?

So, I can understand the issue better and provide you with some solutions.

Also, if possible can you please post your site URL as well?

    Thank you.

I ended up just deleting my existing menus and creating a new one, during which I noticed the Display Mode setting for each menu item that allows for determining whether that item is shown when a user is logged in, logged out, or always. I don’t recall seeing this Display Mode option before and don’t know when it was added, but it’s very helpful. Either way, I was able to fix the issue by creating the new menu and selecting the appropriate Display Mode option for each menu element. Thanks.
