Sometimes comments are being posted twice on a post. Is there a way for the plugin to marked the second one as spam so the duplicate comment will not be posted?

Hi @vtechbox

it wouldn’t be a good idea to mark those comments as spam. If you have enabled the “Local spam db” feature, this would mean every comment from those mail/IP/… would be marked as spam.

There is also a duplicate comment detection already in core:
