Display Edit Links setting?

    Hello,
    What is exactly doing this setting when checked?
    – Display Edit Links, Display “Add New (Classic)” menu link and Classic/Block edit links

    They are deprecated and do not do anything (to be removed in a future version). At one point they added quick edit links to the menu and posts screen.
