• I reported a documented “PHP Deprecated” warning occurring in meta-description-presenter.php on line 60. This issue (passing null to stripslashes) has been deprecated since PHP 8.1, yet it still persists in the current version of Yoast SEO.

Despite explicitly stating multiple times that my environment is running stable PHP 8.3, the support repeatedly sent canned responses about PHP 8.4 Beta and told me to “just ignore” the warnings.

It is frustrating to see such a major plugin refuse to implement a simple one-line null check for a stable, supported PHP version. If you care about clean error logs and professional technical support, be aware that your reports might be ignored with off-topic scripts.

    Hi @ulrichgenisson.

Thanks for sharing your experience. We appreciate your reporting of this PHP deprecated warning and we’re sorry that it wasn’t handled better on our end. After reviewing, we do see an open bug report in the repository, so as soon as there is an update and our developers get a chance to take a look at this, we’ll be sure to make a follow-up. We thank you for your patience and understanding.
