Database Error

    The message

    Error establishing a database connection

    means that WordPress cannot connect to the database using the stored database credentials. Either the database credentials are missing (which would be strange) or your hosting provider is having trouble making the database available.

    I would therefore recommend the following:

    • Check the wp-config.php file to see if the database credentials you have on hand are still there. Your host will tell you which ones to use. If they are incorrect, update them here.
    • Otherwise, contact your host’s support team.
