Database backup size

    Hello,

    I did a full backup of the database and save it to a Google Drive. The problem is the backup has 175MB. The database has 1.5 GB. Is this ok? I don’t want to have problems when I restore it.

    Hi there,

    In theory the zIp compression would reduce the raw database size very significantly.
    However, a 1.5GB database is extremely large and will likely require server resource.

    The process of restoring extremely large tables will be a test of the server resources.
    This may be your problem. I would suggest doing a test restore on a test server first.

    There are limitations to what we are able to do here in terms of free plugin support.
    If it were me, I would certainly run a test server restore before trying it on a live site.
