How exactly did they say it was crashing the site? There isn’t a comparable service that I know of, so you could check out if the issue is due to template overrides in your theme: http://danielsantoro.com/understanding-woocommerce-template-overrides/
Otherwise, you would want to use the regular USPS and Stamps plugins here, but it still may cause problems if it’s a theme issue. Those plugins are here:
