Can confirm the plugin does not work

This doesn’t sound like a problem with this plugin, but rather with your theme or another plugin. If the built-in <!--nextpage--> Quick Tag isn’t working, it’s unlikely this plugin will behave as expected as both use the same underlying functionality to paginate post content.
