Breadcrumbs terminology

If I have well understood what I have read, that there are (at least) two kinds of navigation for which a breadcrumbs plugin could be helpful.
The first (I think it is called “fil d’ariane”) is a list of the pages through which the user has walked before coming to the current page.
The second is based on a hierarchy of pages, and it shows the parent pages of the current one (like Home page > Section page > Subsection page).

I would like to install a plugin that allows this second kind of navigation, i.e. the hierarchical navigation.

Which words should I use when looking for a suitable plugin? Maybe all plugins can implement both sorts of navigation; but it could also be, that some of them are specialized in the fil d’Ariane navigation, and I should avoid them.

Can anyone suggest how should I formulate a request for Google, or how should I go through the list of plugins given by WordPress?
