Hello! We’re seeing errors where blocks won’t display when WPEL is active.

WP Recipe Maker’s block wouldn’t load when:

    • “WP External Links” and “WP User Avatar” are installed.
    • If we disable either of these two plugins, the recipe block starts working.
    • It’s not theme or recipe template related, because we did try using the 2021 theme without our recipe template.
    • It’s also nothing to do with the server, because the same happens on a local server.
    • As long as we are running our recipe template, the block will also start working if we disable “WP Recipe Maker Premium”.

We spoke with WPRM support and verified this wasn’t specific to that plugin, finding that the default “Latest Posts” block (where one of those latest posts has an external link) will also break.

Can WPEL exclude block previews, so the editor blocks can render as expected again? Basically if it’s a REST API request where the URL includes “/wp/v2/block-renderer/”.

    Cheers,
    Lauren

Have you tried the below? It was suggested for a somewhat similar issue in your other ticket https://wordpress.org/support/topic/unexpected-end-of-json-input-4/

    1. Go to the External links settings page
    2. Go to the Exceptions tab.
    3. On the first option that reads “Apply settings on”, uncheck the “All contents” box.
    4. Select all the other options that appeared below (Post content, Comments, All widgets)

Otherwise, no we don’t have any options related to Gutenberg. Normally WPEL should only process links when displayed on the front-end 😕
