Hi Carley,
When you create a backup big folders are split into smaller files for transfer.
You can adjust the size of these files but it won’t change the combined size.
In your Settings under Expert settings you have a Split archive every option.
Here you can define the size of the .zip files used when backups are created.
In your example the uploads backup set seems to use a default 400MB split.
To reduce the number of files you could set a larger Split archive every size.
However, this change will make little or no difference to overall backup size.
The backup size is defined by the amount of content you have to back up.
Best regards,
Nick

Thanks for that Nick.
When I go to do a backup and it gives you several tick boxes, what happens if I select “Send this backup to remote storage (…)”?
Does this mean the backup will only be saved to the method I have selected under Settings?
Or will it also be saved to the website’s server?
Thanks, Carley
Hi Carley,
Thank you very much, I’m happy to help.
There’s a setting which prevents your backups being stored locally on your site server.
Settings >> Expert settings >> Delete local backups. Tick the box, click ‘Save Changes’.
When you do a manual backup and select ‘Send to remote…’ it will do just that for you.
However, to make sure the backup isn’t stored locally please use the settings as above.
If you have backups scheduled and a remote storage option selected, same rules apply.
When the backup is sent to the remote storage the local copy will be deleted afterwards.
I hope this information is helpful to you.
Best regards,
Nick
