You are welcome DF. I too downgraded to from PHP 8.0 to 7.4 and the backups started working.
Hey there,
Filip here at the other end. My apologies for the late reply.
Hopefully, now that the Worker plugin is updated everything should be okay as we did have some incompatibility with the PHP 8.0 version.
Downgrading was the go-to workaround. If there is anything else, don’t hesitate to ask.
Cheers,
Just ran into this myself today as well. Going to drop a support ticket on ManageWP.
This seems to be the source of the issue, according to the error log on Pantheon:
usort(): Returning bool from comparison function is deprecated, return an integer less than, equal to, or greater than zero

Hi there,
Nikola here. Our developer team has been notified of this issue, and we hope that it will get resolved soon. In the meantime, please feel free to get back to me if you have any other issues.
Kind regards.
same issue here too. I run WP Worker on dozens of sites, the only two with connection issues are the two hosted by a client with a server PHP version 8.0.23. Cannot reconnect for ANYTHING!!!
Hey there,
Filip here from ManageWP.
Would you mind creating a ticket with as much detail so that we can send that feedback to our dev team to investigate it further?
Cheers,
@filip: I have TWO tickets related to this (one which is marked “Escalated”), and have documented this problem in excruciating detail. The older of the tickets is from JUNE.
All I keep getting back is “our developers are still working on it”. Even the 4.9.16 update, which claims to have improved PHP 8.0 support, did not fix this issue.
(Also, your ticketing system keeps failing to post replies, but that’s a whole separate issue.)
I can’t downgrade sites to PHP 7.4; other companies were trying to steal my clients from me with scare tactics about how PHP 7.4 is end-of-lifed and insecure.
PLEASE FIX THIS!
