    Hi team

Client had recently starting using the agent login functionality for agents to login and manage their listings.

All works well except for one thing – they can’t use existing media library images when creating listings.

From what I can see there is only the ability to upload images not select existing media library images irrespective of whether the agent previously added the image or not.

Is this expected behaviour and if so is there any way of allowing agents to add existing images rather than uploading new images each time they create a listing? With similar off the plan listings being created it would be good to not have multiple copies of stock images they use from time to time to illustrate floor plan or facade.

let me know if you need any further info in order to respond.

    thanks.

    Hey there!

That’s expected behaviour. Due to WordPress limitations, it’s not possible to let agents select images from the main Media Library in the front-end dashboard.

Doing this outside of WordPress guidelines could cause issues with image ownership, deletion, and conflicts with other plugins that work with media files.

    Thanks Beelana

So it’s the agent role that allows agents to edit and create listings.

If we were able to assign an agent also the WordPress editor role then they’d have this capability via WordPress backend?

I’m thinking WordPress editors can create and edit their own posts including access to media library. The client wants this same ability for their agents to avoid same images being uploaded multiple times.

therefore give agents the editor role in addition to an agent and they’ll be able to see listings but also edit them via the backend which would give them the media library functionality that an admin has???
