  • Hey there, @thegulshankumar! Thanks for contacting us. I’m happy to help you.

This is definetly not expected behavior. Let’s investigate to figure out what is going on.

To confirm, this only happens with the privacy policy page, correct?

Did you use any plugins to create this page or did you created with the regular WordPress interface?

Did you have WooCommerce active before or have you just installed it?

If you deactivate WooCommerce, does it comes back?

Have you tried activating WooCommerce while having no other plugin active to see if the issue persists?

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Have a wonderful day!

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my query. πŸ™

    • It’s okay; I was initially baffled to see this. Hoping to get it fixed. πŸ™‚

I am happy to provide a video at the end of my reply to help you understand what’s going on.

To confirm, this only happens with the privacy policy page, correct?

    • Yes. My privacy policy exists at /legal/privacy-policy/.

Did you use any plugins to create this page, or did you create it with the regular WordPress interface?

    • WordPress Privacy Policy Creator.

Did you have WooCommerce active before, or have you just installed it?

    • First time.

If you deactivate WooCommerce, does it come back?

    • Yes.

Have you tried activating WooCommerce while having no other plugins active to see if the issue persists?

    • The issue can be reproduced after deactivating all plugins (except WooCommerce) with the default theme.

The content of my privacy page changes to following things (for the logged out users)

Great things are on the horizon

Something big is brewing! Our store is in the works and will be launching soon!

    Hey, @thegulshankumar!

    Thanks for the information!

    (for the logged out users)

So if you check the page while logged in to your account it shows it correctly?

Can you please go to Settings > Privacy and set another page as the Privacy Police page, a page that you created regularly with the WordPress interface?

Than please activate WooCommerce and check if the issue persists.

You can also test this by using the “create” option on Settings > Privacy.

Please let us know how it goes.

    Have a wonderful day!

    • Yes

Can you please go to Settings > Privacy and set another page as the Privacy Police page, a page that you created regularly with the WordPress interface?

    • I clicked on Create, named the Page “Privacy Policy 2”, this page doesn’t open when WooCommerce is active and I am checking as logged out users.
    • However, I am unable to repro the issue at another WordPress site where even if Privacy Policy page is set, it normally opens.

    UPDATE

I noticed my settings were misconfigured (see image: Settings Image), causing an issue.

Switching to live mode resolves this.

However, WooCommerce is incorrectly affecting my privacy policy page by loading HTML content twice, including coming soon template elements. The privacy policy page should not be impacted by WooCommerce and should follow WordPress guidelines. WooCommerce should only restrict the shop section, not standard pages like the privacy policy. Kindly fix the issue in the upcoming release.

I am closing this topic for now. Thank you.
