• hi!

I have difficulties with the iOS app every time I try to upload pictures in posts. I get 429 rejected.
My OVH shared hosting doesn’t allow me to upscale the PHP limits.
I read in a topic from 9 months ago that you were working on shifting to the REST API.
    Are you done with it?

    Thanks in advance

  • I get 429 rejected.

429 is a rate-limiting blocking (“Too Many Requests”), and not something that changing the API connectivity method will fix this.

On iOS, the most common reason is Apple’s Private Relay service (if active), which routes all traffic through a fixed set of shared IP addresses and can easily trigger rate-limiting. And with a large number of users sharing IP addresses, this often triggers “429 – Too Many Requests” errors.

But that’s just a theory (though I deal with this sort of thing a lot in the Cloudflare community forums, Cloudflare being one of the CDN providers Apple uses for their Private Relay service).

one of the developers was talking of reducing the number of requests with the REST API. That’s why I asked. Maybe one of them will pass by.
