Hi @subwebsites,
Sorry you ran into this. Rolling back to 3.x is a reasonable choice for a live site while things get sorted out.
If you’d like to try 4.x again, testing on a staging copy first is safest. Many hosts offer one-click staging. A few things are worth checking when the element search returns nothing:
- Clear cached editor files. Go to Elementor → Tools → Regenerate Files & Data. Then hard-refresh the editor with Ctrl+Shift+R, or Cmd+Shift+R on Mac. Old cached scripts from 3.x often break panels after a major update.
- Check the editor language. If your admin or profile language isn’t English, try searching for the widget name in that language. Some widget titles are translated, and search matches the translated name.
- Test for a conflict. With the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin, enable Troubleshooting Mode with only Elementor (and Pro) active, then try searching again. This only affects your own session, not visitors.
- Check the browser console. Press F12, open the Console tab, and type in the search box. Any red errors that appear will show exactly what’s failing.
If you test again, please reply with your WordPress version, the exact Elementor and Pro versions, and any console errors. That will make it much easier to tell whether this is a bug to report to the Elementor team or a site-specific conflict.
