This Week In Gang Land
It's Teddy Time For The Colombos

It's
official: Five years after the FBI said he was a Mafia boss, Theodore
(Skinny Teddy) Persico has succeeded the late Carmine (Junior) Persico as
head of the Colombo crime family. And like his late uncle did for many
years, Skinny Teddy will soon be ruling the roost from a federal prison.
It'll be a much shorter stretch for Skinny Teddy — he's already spent nearly half of his 62 years behind bars — than the 34 years his uncle Carmine spent behind bars before his death at age 85 while serving a 100-year sentence back in 2019.
Teddy Persico faces up to two years but will likely receive between five and 11 months. That's the guideline sentence for his guilty plea last week to violating his supervised release (VOSR) conditions by meeting four fellow wiseguys last year after his release from custody following a five-year sentence for racketeering.
Defense Lawyer Comes Out Swinging At Prosecutors In Boxer Trial
A
day after helping a reputed Mafia boss dodge a return to the Metropolitan
Detention Center, lawyer Joseph Corozzo ripped the feds as "disingenuous"
for trying to prevent him from defending a Serbian boxer because he is a
"fact witness" against his client and he might seek to curry favor with them
since he is the subject of a federal juror bribery investigation by the
feds.
Ho Ho Hold On A Second: Mob Christmas Party Has No Room For FBI
The team of FBI agents were pretty sure Mafia boss Theodore (Skinny
Teddy) Persico was at the Colombo crime family Christmas party last month. A
white Vintage Collision truck was parked outside the Ponte Vecchio
restaurant. The agents soon decided to make sure, and enjoy some nice
Italian food while they did.
