Five Hosts
One World Jamboree

Five National Scout Organizations have come together to bid for the 2031 World Scout Jamboree.  The NSOs that make up the “Alliance” are the Asociación de Scouts del Ecuador, Egyptian Scout Federation, the National Organization of Scouts of Ukraine, The Kenya Scouts Association, and the Bangladesh Scouts.  Together, they have chosen the Summit Bechtel Scout Reserve in West Virginia, United States as the Jamboree venue.  The Summit was the site of the 2019 World Scout Jamboree, also hosted by a coalition of three NSOs in North America.

The Alliance has chosen the theme “Connecting Cultures”, which focuses on the primary goal of World Scout Jamborees: promoting peace.  The Alliance will center the Jamboree on promoting peace through:

  • Creating new friendships
  • Expanding cultural understanding and appreciation
  • Focusing on sustainability, and our impact on the environment
  • Building skills for life, wellness, and confidence through personal challenges
  • Understanding Scouts’ role as global citizens.

The Jamboree site, the Summit Bechtel Scout Reserve in the United States, is one of the most exciting and sustainable venues:

  • As an existing site with established infrastructure, the site does not need to be improved in order to be ready to welcome 50,000 participants and IST.  The site offers multiple permanent buildings and structures for administration, healthcare, training, and contingent support.  This significantly reduces the cost and carbon footprint of hosting a Jamboree.
  • The site is tested. It has hosted many national Jamborees and one World Scout Jamboree in 2019.
  • Plans for extensive recycling program, minimization of single use plastics, creative use of gray water, and donation of surplus food and materials.
  • The Summit offers a wide range of personal challenges, from sustainability education to zip-lines.
  • Electricity, clean water, sanitation facilities, internet and cellular coverage are existing infrastructure that meets or exceeds WOSM requirements.

The Alliance NSOs will be responsible for:

  • Jamboree planning, budgeting and administration
  • Event programming and IST Management
  • Human resources
  • Communications, Brand Management, and Public Relations
  • Safe From Harm
  • Sustainability
  • Solidarity Program
  • Managing and coordinating with the Venue Partner

The Venue Partner is the Summit Bechtel Scout Reserve, operated by the Boy Scouts of America. The Summit will be responsible for:

  • Venue planning for participants, IST, Partners, and Guest
  • Food Service
  • Health, Safety, and Security
  • Sustainability
  • Transportation

Together, the Alliance and its venue partner will deliver a safe, fun, and transformative World Scout Jamboree for thousands of Scouts from around the world.
