Trading in gleeful blasphemy for phony exotica, Enigma pastes up another sheet of sensual wallpaper. On ”The Return of Innocence,” group mastermind Michael Cretu replaces his familiar monkish chants (1991’s hit ”Sadeness”) with aboriginal croons, but the entrancing, mid-tempo groove remains, along with loopy female whispers. Less fun are the bombastic ballads/anthems (”Silent Warrior,” ”Out From the Deep”), which invoke racism, natural selection, and guitar solos.
