WRS will represent Romania at the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest in Turin, Italy.
Tonight the final of Romania’s Eurovision selection show SelecÅ£ia NaÅ£ională took place in Bucharest. Ten artists took part in the show, with the winner being determined by 1/6 public televote. The results were as follows (public vote + jury vote):
- Andrei PetruÅŸ – “Take meâ€? – 2.59 points (807 votes) + 11 – 13.59 points – 9th
- Alex Parker & Bastien – “Best of meâ€? – 1.38 points (429 votes) + 27 points – 28.38 points – 7th
- Gabriel Basco – “One nightâ€? – 3.37 points (1048 votes) + 35 points – 38.37 points – 4th
- VANU – “Never give upâ€? – 2.17 points (676 votes) – + 34 points – 36.17 points – 5th
- Petra – “Ireligiosâ€? (Irreligious) – 1.32 points (412 votes) + 34 points – 35.32 points – 6th
- MOISE – “Guiltyâ€? – 1.88 points (585 votes) – + 10 points – 11.88 points – 10th
- Cream, Minodora, Diana – “România meaâ€? (My Romania) – 2.45 points (764 votes) + 13 points – 15.45 points – 8th
- Kyrie Mendél – “Hurricaneâ€? – 2.06 points (641 votes) + 46 points – 48.06 points – 3rd
- Dora Gaitanovici – “Anaâ€? – 12 points (3737 votes) + 32 points – 44 points 3rd
- WRS – “Llámameâ€? (Call me) – 11.23 points (3497 votes) + 48 points – 59.23 points 1st

- Moldova – Zdob și Zdub
- Montenegro – Vladana
- North Macedonia – Andrea
Eurovision 2016 winner Jamala from Ukraine also performed on the stage in Bucharest.
WRS will perform in the 2nd half of the second semi-final on 12th May.

Romania first participated in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994, the country had tried to participate in 1993 but failed to get through the pre-qualifying round. At the 1994 contest Dan Bittman finished 21st in the final scoring 14 points, Romania didn’t make it through to another final until 1998. Romania’s best results in the contest are two third-place finishes. In 2005 Luminita Anghel & Sistem finished 3rd scoring 158 points, while Paula Seling & Ovi finished 3rd in Oslo with the song “Playing with Fire�. Romania missed the 2016 contest due to TVR being removed from the EBU.
