Jack Turner, plucked from his free law clinc and brought to the white shoe law firm of Lyons & Lacrosse after the mysterious death of his mentor, Dan Barrington, who ran the place. Owing it to his memory, Jack leaves the world of "street law" and involves himself in high stakes cases as he becomes increasingly convinced his mentor was murdered. Possibly because of something or someone at the firm.
Jewel Kilcher was extremely reluctant to kiss Rob Lowe in any intimate scenes together. In the end, they ended up doing the scene, but the kiss was very awkward. Lowe told Ellen DeGeneres on her show that filming the series was a "paradise of indignities," but it was a real blow to his self-esteem when his costar didn't want to engage in mouth-to-mouth action for the TV drama. I really loved this but the ending has left me gobsmacked. At least in the UK we got to see all the episodes recorded but never in a million years did I suspect what was going to happen.
I wonder if this "last" episode was recorded before they knew the show was not going to be a success? It does seem to me as if the ending had been hastily contrived - maybe they hurriedly changed it. I thought it was a good vehicle for Lowe, he played the part of Turner well.
I really don't see how the show could be resurrected now, although of course that's not going to happen. Full marks to Channel Five for showing it through to the end.
