I'm not an economist, but I can spot a bad argument. And the argument--reproduced ad nauseum in the business press--that manufacturing jobs not keeping pace with output = automation is the main culprit is really bad. There are so many other variables at play.
Follow @hamandcheese and Oren for a lot of good arguments for why we need *more* automation in the economy--it increases productivity, keeps us ahead of China, and--hopefully--should raise wages over the long term.
