PM Modi flagged off the #RunWithRio initiative in support of India's Olympics contingent on 31st July 2016. While we cheer our finest sportspersons displaying their prowess in the world arena, let's spare a thought for Shanthi Soundarajan. She, who brought laurels for the country , she who was stripped of her dignity when she supposedly 'failed' a gender test at the Asian Games in Doha in 2006. She who suffered and worked as a mason for a paltry ₹200 a day because we as a nation chose to forget her. She could have achieved her dreams if we, the Indians, had rallied behind her like we are currently supporting Dutee Chand. South Africa supported Caster Semenya in a similar case. Caster and Dutee would both be at the Olympics. Shanthi is still fighting a battle. Today she coaches young children to run while looking for a permanent job. She dreams that her students will make it to the Olympics one day. She continues to fight for her honour to be restored.
All we ask is that:
1) Her name be put back on the official record of winners in the races she won.
2) The government gives her a permanent job to rebuild her life.

It's really disappointing to know what is happening for Shanthi Soundarajan in this country government should help her

Don't blame poor Shanthi. Blame the officials for what has happened
