When a Pakistani actor is in India, you know a Bollywood deal is about to be struck.
Maya Ali just flew to India for a meeting with an Indian film production company, the Diyar-e-Dil actress revealed to Images.
"They called my manager around three months ago and asked for my availability," reveals Maya. "Before anything, I mentioned my restrictions and when they were okay with it, my visa process began."
So off Maya went with her manager to meet the producers.

"I met their producer, male lead and director. I told them directly that I am not dying to come to Bollywood or anything because I have a lot of work in my own country."
While the talks went well, there are still minor issues to resolve.
"I have some issues regarding wardrobe. Until those issues are sorted out, I won't say yes to them."
While Maya keeps mum about the identity of the production house involved, she did say it is known to produce "good films" with "A category actors". Model Sadia Khan has also been approached for a role in the same film, and the two actors were present for the talks together.
If this works out, Maya Ali will make her film debut in Bollywood!

Dream come true for her to be in India & Bollywood
Talented people will always be in demand.
What are the restrictions ? Kindly explain.
Time to improve our film industry.
Another aapa in bollywood.
We welcome all Pakistanis for good cause. They are doing hard work for good name of their own country i.e. Pakistan.
Such a shame .people are prefering india instead of their country . Why not ho to any other country except india ?
@Salman That is for you to decide and show the aspiring artists other opportunities.
Welcome Maya and all the best for bollywood. We love you !!
She is welcome to India.
@Salman
Because.
@Salman Coz India Is the oceans of opportunity ....
please don't go to India
@Salman cause India is great !
Not a single Pakistani actress, who came to India, never made it to the top in Bollywood to the level of Nargis, Waheeda Rehman, Meena Kumari, Saira Banu, Madhuri Dixit, Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone.
I am waiting for the day when she will apply for Indian Citizenship. Someday India will have most of the great Pakistani artists. India welcomes them.
@Salman So using your logic, let's say, if I get an opportunity at Harvard I should never accept that? Because I am not being patriot enough, maybe? Yes?
@Salman If it is such a shame then why don't we develop Pakistani cinema and provide equivalant opportunities to these artists. Rather than developing our own industry and infrastructure some people resort to foul mouthing others. Rather than appreciating the greatness of Bollywood which has accepted artists from an enemy country you are bent upon degrading it. Ego only has value when you have something of your own. Empty handed ego is called foolishness.
Ok, the transition from TV to Bollywood is not very easy even for Indian TV stars and in the last 25 years only 3 people have successfully made the transition : Shah Rukh Khan, Vidya Balan, Sushant Singh Rajput. So for this Pakistani TV actress to pretend that she was not really interested in working for Bollywood is just hypocritical. She must have had an agent and sent a portfolio of work to that agent.
@Asif Mir well said
@Sunil There are always roles in bollywood other than lead roles which suit midgets- like vamp, concubes, other lady, hero's sister or ex, item dancer.
If she has lot of work at home and is not dying to go to bollywood then what is she doing there, anyways she is a normal actress, she is no Roohi Bank, Bushrank Ansari, Samina Peerzada etc.
If India can let these actress in, why not allow Pakistani cricketers in IPL?
@irfan : It has been mentioned above that she has some concerns for the wardrobe and we all know what kind of wardrobes are Bollywood specific and as a Pakistani she is not comfortable with them. At least she got the guts to challenge this on her own terms and she seems genuine in her demand
