Eyelashes, eyebrows, wigs, &c.-Short loops of hair j or other material are threaded over a hair i and secured by twisting two other hairs i, i round them, as shown in Fig. 3, by the appliance shown in Fig. 1. This consists of standards with hooks g, g for holding the hair i, and two hooks carried by an arm f on a spindle, which is turned by a hand-wheel e to twist the threads or hairs i, i. This material may be used as an artificial eyelash, or it may be used as a foundation material for artificial eyebrows, wigs, fringes, &c. by twisting and knotting it to the shape desired.
