On-line and networked gaming is no longer the sole realm of computer geeks and Net-heads.
WorldPlay Entertainment, a subsidiary of AOL Studios, is making its online gaming channel available by sealing deals with the most popular Internet service providers, including America Online, EarthLink and AT&T; WorldNet.
Instead of checking in on overpopulated chat rooms, members of the nation's No. 1 service provider, AOL, can try WorldPlay's offerings free during a trial period (keyword: WorldPlay), but it will cost $1.99 per hour after mid-July.
Members can sit down to a number of multiplayer card games, and soon will be able to join in on games like "Castles II," "Siege and Conquest," "Splatterball" and "Virtual Pool. …
