Scimeca/Knierim teamed up in 2012. Scimeca competed in singles until 2009 before switching to pair skating. The couple withdrew from the 2013 Four Continents Championships as Scimeca suffered from a foot injury. Scimeca/Knierim have performed the quad twist in competition (since 2015 National Championships). They are engaged to each other.
