For the first time since 2002, two NHL players fought each other three times in the same game.

Alex Petrovic would have been wise to stop at one.

Evander Kane sent Petrovic to three straight losses Tuesday night during the Sabres' 7-4 setback to Florida. Columbus' Jody Shelley and Chicago's Bob Probert fought three times Jan. 10, 2002, according to Elias Sports Bureau.

"You get three fights you get kicked out of the game, so you don't have an opportunity for a fourth," Kane said in First Niagara Center.

Here are the bouts, with Kane taunting Petrovic after the second one with a "2 and 0" gesture. The third fight was the biggest beatdown, with Petrovic napping early for some reason.
