Construction Updates for Blocks 14, 19 & 20

Construction Updates:

September 18, 2015

Block 14 Work

Delivery trucks are entering and exiting the site off of 6th and 7th avenues daily. Street improvement work continues on 6th, 7th and Lenora. The trolley stop on the west side of Westlake Avenue is closed through October. Access on the sidewalk will also be closed.

Crews continue to work a swing shift from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday. Building lighting for workers will be on until 10:30 p.m.

Planned street interruptions are as follows:

7th Avenue: The parking lane and sidewalk on the west side of 7th Avenue from Westlake to Lenora
will be closed for construction until November 2015.

6th Avenue: The parking lane and sidewalk on the east side of 6th Avenue from Virginia to Lenora
will be closed for construction until November 2015.

Lenora Street: The parking lane and sidewalk on the south side of Lenora will be closed for construction until November 2015.

Virginia Street: The parking lane and sidewalk on the north side of Virginia Street from Westlake to 6th Avenue will be closed for construction until November 2015.

Block 19 Work

Work continues on the concrete core, structural steel, elevated slabs and underground utilities at Block 19. Deliveries are staging on 6th and 7th avenues and occasionally on Blanchard Street. A smaller second shift will be working on the core formwork and stocking materials from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Weekend and Evening Work: September 19 - 26

Crews will be stocking curtainwall window units and HVAC ductwork with the tower crane on Saturday between 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Workers will also be climbing the tower crane for the fourth and final time from 9/23 to 9/25 between 3 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Planned street interruptions are as follows:

7th Avenue: The west sidewalk and parking lane along 7th will be closed indefinitely. Be aware of bikes merging with traffic southeast bound. Traffic will be merged to one lane southeat during construction hours.

6th Avenue: The sidewalk and parking lane along 6th will be closed indefinitely. Be aware of bikes merging with traffic.

Lenora Street: Lenora is open to pedestrians on the Block 19 side only.

Blanchard Street: The sidewalk on the south side of Blanchard will be closed indefinitely. Please use the opposite sidewalk for access. The parking lane on the north side of Blanchard is closed Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Block 20 Work

The site will continue being used for the staging of crews and materials.

Planned street interruptions are as follows:

8th Avenue: Parking space closures and traffic revisions will occur periodically this month.

7th Avenue: Intermittent delays will occur throughout the month as crews shuttle materials between Blocks 14, 19 and 20.

Safety

• Please follow the sidewalk detours and do not enter the secured fenced site at any time.
• Please watch for truck and trailer traffic entering and leaving the site. Trucks and heavy equipment may make wide turns and have trouble seeing pedestrians and vehicles.
