Wuher
You didn’t survive in the Mos Eisley Cantina by being nice, and Wuher was a survivor. The gruff bartender dispensed drinks to the spacers, moisture farmers and barflies escaping the Tatooine heat; did his best to enforce the seedy bar’s handful of rules (no droids and no settling fights with blasters); and avoided trouble, whether it began with trigger-happy patrons or stormtroopers investigating the latest incident.

Creature Cantina
Though Luke claims to be "ready for anything," the bizarre interior of the Mos Eisley Cantina proves almost too much.

Mos Eisley Cantina
The Mos Eisley cantina is a dimly-lit tavern known for its strong drinks, hot tunes, and occasional outbreaks of shocking violence. Most star pilots visiting Tatooine spend their downtime in the cantina, making it an ideal spot to hire a starship's crew.
Tatooine
A harsh desert world orbiting twin suns in the galaxy’s Outer Rim, Tatooine is a lawless place ruled by Hutt gangsters. Many settlers scratch out a living on moisture farms, while spaceport cities such as Mos Eisley and Mos Espa serve as home base for smugglers, criminals, and other rogues. Tatooine’s many dangers include sandstorms, bands of savage Tusken Raiders, and carnivorous krayt dragons. The planet is also known for its dangerous Podraces, rampant gambling, and legalized slavery. Anakin Skywalker and Luke Skywalker both grew up on Tatooine, and Obi-Wan Kenobi spent years in hiding on this desolate world.
Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes
This seven-piece ensemble of Bith musicians was a common sight at the Mos Eisley Cantina, playing swinging instrumentals for the watering hole’s staggering patrons. The Modal Nodes’ leader, “Fiery” Figrin D’an, played the Kloo horn, though some patrons preferred his work on the Gasan string drum. Other members of the Modal Nodes were Nalan Cheel (Bandfill), Doikk Na’ts (Dorenian Beshniquel), Tedn Dahai (Fanfar), Tech M’or (Ommni box), Ickabel G’ont (Double Jocimer) and Sun’il Ei’de (drums).
Dr. Evazan
A grubby, scarred human, Dr. Evazan tried to bully Luke Skywalker in the Mos Eisley Cantina, boasting that he faced a death sentence in 12 systems. Evazan and his pal Ponda Baba assumed the young farmboy would be an easy target, and paid little heed to the old man in dusty robes who’d accompanied Luke into the bar. That was a fatal mistake by Evazan – when he escalated the conflict by hurling Luke aside and pulling his blaster, Obi-Wan Kenobi coolly ignited his lightsaber and cut Evazan down.
Ponda Baba
A burly Aqualish thug, Ponda Baba was one of the alien barflies escaping the heat of Tatooine’s twin suns in the Mos Eisley Cantina. Bored and looking for excitement, Ponda picked a fight with Luke Skywalker, which his friend Dr. Evazan quickly escalated. The two bullies had picked the wrong target – Obi-Wan Kenobi interceded, and took action when Ponda and Evazan refused to back down. The old man’s lightsaber left Evazan dead and severed Ponda’s arm, ending the quarrel rather decisively.
Luke Skywalker
Luke Skywalker was a Tatooine farmboy who rose from humble beginnings to become one of the greatest Jedi the galaxy has ever known. Along with his friends Princess Leia and Han Solo, Luke battled the evil Empire, discovered the truth of his parentage, and ended the tyranny of the Sith.
