Bettine Vrieskoop a sure table tennis hall of famer, in 1995 was honored by Playboy Europe.  She was given the cover, was the Playboy Interview (a 12 page interview at that), and also the centerfold layout in the magazine.

It is rare that any one person is given this honor.  As a matter of fact, I do not know of anyone else that has received it.  Certainly no one in US Playboy history.

The following images contain nudity.  It is very tasteful and extremely mild nudity, but it is still nudity.  If you are for some bizarre reason offended by an athletic human body, don't look at the pictures.  If you are younger than 18, please go and ask your parents permission.  Better yet, view the pictures with them so they know what it is you are looking at!

Some of the pictures are very large so they may take a while to load.  I wanted to be as true as possible to the shots.  By the way, none of them do her justice and I have said I would like to whop the photographer upside the head for his substandard work.  Bettine was given 10 full pages for her layout!

Here is her cover shot (click on the images to see larger ones)

She appeared on the 'Table of Contents' page

The first page of her interview (sorry I am not posting all 12 pages)

Cover page on her layout

One of the best photographic shots

Looks like she had fun during the shoot

She had two cross page spreads, I was unable to scan the entire pictures

This is a soft flattering shot

The photog. could have done so much more with this shot

The last shot in her layout, another 2 pager

I have had the privilege of umpiring several of Bettine's table tennis matches.  She retired in 1997 and was named a player of the month by the ITTF.  You can follow this link to their tribute to her. ITTF interview, Bettine's Championship accomplishments. It is understandable why Playboy dedicated 24 pages of their magazine to her.  Oh, and by the way, she was also on her National Olympic Cycling team.
