Jojo
JoJo is an international Recording Artist, Songwriter, and Actress. She shot to fame with her certified Multi-Platinum debut album, JoJo, and her platinum global hit, “Leave (Get Out)”. At the age of thirteen, JoJo was setting records as the youngest Solo artist in U.S. history to have a #1 single and the youngest nominee ever for an MTV Video Music Award – “Best New Artist”.
Her follow up release, The High Road, also garnered JoJo platinum success with its lead mega-hit, “Too Little Too Late”, which broke the Billboard record for the biggest jump in the history of the Billboard charts – from #66 to #3 in just one week. Since then JoJo has sold more than 10 Million albums & singles worldwide and now at the age of 19, has embarked on recording her highly anticipated 3rd album, All I Want Is Everything, due to be released in 2011. In addition, JoJo’s music can be heard on the More Than A Game Soundtrack & Film – the LeBron James Story (“If You Dream”) as well as on the super-producer Timbaland’s sophomore release, Shock Value 2 (“Lose Control” & “Where Have You Been”). JoJo also made guest appearances on Timbaland’s Shock Value 2 Tour along with Justin Timberlake.
Born Joanna Noëlle Levesque, “JoJo” has been acting since the age of four. After appearing on numerous television shows, JoJo was cast in the Twentieth Century Fox film, Aquamarine , co-starring Emma Roberts and Sara Paxton. Her role as Hailey snagged JoJo a Teen Choice Award Nomination in the “Movies: Choice Breakout – (female)” category. JoJo’s follow up film, RV, co-starring Robin Williams and Cheryl Hines (Curb Your Enthusiasm) opened at #1 at the Box Office. JoJo also starred in the Lifetime television film, True Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet , with Valerie Bertinelli. The made for TV film was the highest rated program during its premiere. Most Recently, JoJo lent her voice as the lead for the Animated film, Dizzy & Bop’s Big Adventures, distributed by The Weinstein Company where she did the voiceover for Dizzy.
In addition to singing, writing, and acting, JoJo is extremely passionate about her involvement in various charities. She participated in the recording of “Come Together Now” – a charity song to benefit the victims of the 2004 Asian Tsunami and 2005 Hurricane Katrina. She has also hosted and performed at the Hope Rocks Concert to raise funds for The City of Hope Cancer Center. JoJo has given her time and talent in support of various charities working towards finding a cure for Alzheimers. In addition, she supports and has been involved with the following organizations: Boys and Girls Clubs of America, Jumpstart – Read for the Record, the G&P Cancer Foundation, Dove For Real Beauty campaign, The Candie’s Foundation, YouthAids.org, World Vision, Make A Wish Foundation, and She’s The First. JoJo also works closely with dosomething.org and encourages the volunteer spirit with the youth around the world. She has participated in self-esteem workshops through The Step Up Women’s Network, has walked the runway at the Red Dress Fashion show to raise awareness and funds for women’s heart health & research, and participated in the Snoopy in Fashion event to benefit the Dress For Success organization. Further, she has been involved with anti-bullying campaigns and has performed at The Arthur Ashe Kid’s Day. JoJo’s latest cause is to help fight prejudice against the LGBT youth community.

If you could have a super power, what would it be?
It would be incredible to FLY. -
If you could have been born in any decade, which one would it be?
I would want to be born during the 1940's so I can be in my 20s during the 1960s. Music from that era (the 60s) are some of my favorite. The fashion, the love, and the social/political changes that happened during that time would have been amazing to experience firsthand. -
What was the first concert you ever went to?
An annual Summer Fest that my local Massachusetts radio station put on. I was about 8. Britney Spears was one of the headliners. I was so excited! 7 years later I performed at that same event. -
If you could hang out with anyone dead or alive, who would it be?
I would have liked to spend more time with my Grandparents. They passed away when I was pretty young. I have so many questions for them and wish I could listen to their stories and learn from them! -
What would be your ideal vacation?
To stay at a beautiful resort in Egypt with my closest friends, soak in the culture, taste the local cuisine, visit the historical sites, and meet cool young people and have them show us the area through their eyes. -

If you had to eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
That is a tough one for me! But probably toast. I love toast with a variety of different things on it. Peanut butter & jelly, Peanut butter & Agave & banana, butter & splenda, butter and jelly... -
As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Always wanted to be a singer. But I also entertained the idea of being a Veterinarian or a Lawyer. Lol. I was quite ambitious. -
What was your favorite Halloween costume as a kid?
A fairy! My face was painted and I had glittery wings and a wand. -
Which one of the five sense could you live without if you had to pick one?
Smell, I guess? Although I do love to smell what I'm eating, the scent of a candle, that "new car" smell, etc.... Ugghhhh. -
If you could be any animal, what would you be?
An eagle! Or some kind of a big bird that can roam the sky freely... -
Favorite Saturday morning cartoon character as a kid?
Never really watched cartoons except for Rugrats and Hey Arnold! -
What is your favorite part of being famous?
The connection I'm able to feel with people around the world. The fact that I can bring people together and we can all bond over a song, a lyric, an idea. I love it. -
What do you like to do in your down time?
I like to spend time with friends, go shopping, try new interesting restaurants, explore places, listen to music. -
