So the rumors of a Google/Adscape deal that popped up last month (
my article here) is apparently still underway, well after ongoing chatter pegged the deal done, then dragging on, then dead.
Things are still alive, at least according to info I heard from a source a few hours ago. Apparently all paperwork was scheduled to be signed today (Wednesday), barring any last-minute snags. No update on when anything will be made public if all went as planned.
Sounds similar to what paidContent.org said on Saturday (
link) — at least the part saying that mid-week (i.e. today) is the make-or-break date for the deal. But paidContent also said the Googlers are looking elsewhere and made a key point...that a deal with either DoubleFusion or IGA is unlikely. Perhaps.
The only thing I do know is that those two would fetch a MUCH higher price tag than Adscape's rumored $20-30m sticker.
More on this as I get it.
