Tom Daley takes World Series fourth with new dives

Daley's new dives involve a high degree of difficulty

World champion Tom Daley had to be content with a fourth-placed finish in the 10m platform at the opening Fina Diving World Series event in Qingdao.

The 15-year-old showcased his two new dives and while he recorded his best score of the year, 520.35, it was not enough to clinch a podium finish.

China's Qui Bo, who Daley beat into second at last year's Worlds, won gold in front of his home crowd.

GB's 10m synchro pair Monique Gladding and Megan Sylvester took fourth.
