I drew this with my 4 year old son a couple weeks ago . He asked me to draw HULK. The only drawing tools he had were two big fat crayons and one pencil that was cinnamon scented, which was odd but pleasing at the same time. If I was 4 I would probably have tasted it. Luckily my son is smarter than I.

Here’s some Invincible stuff. Can’t wait for Viltrumite WAR? Meeee tooo.

And here’s a page from Invincible 70. I did the whole issue in exactly 10 days, I had to rush it. Not giving excuses just giving you a fun fact. It was rushed of course because at the time I was working on my last issue of Haunt as well. Each issue of Haunt was about 2 weeks also so you can imagine how happy I am to not have two books to worry about anymore. I am so sick of drawing fast so it’s nice to only have Invincible to work on for now. I spent more time on Invincible returns, and issue 71 is a blast so far as well, I’m going at a rate of a page a day. Which isn’t helping our lateness but once I get to some easy pages it should go faster. We’ll get back on time people, don’t you worry.

Thanks!
Ryan
Had to show off the cover to 73. 3 different scans in different stages. Pencils and inks by me, colors by FCO Placsencia.
Thanks for coming to my site, you guys are the cool.

Here’s my con schedule for 2010, it’s not the full list. I’ll still add maybe one or two more but here’s the cons that are set in stone. Also for those wondering about commissions, I am still not accepting them at home. I’m way too busy for that right now, I do still have a short list that I am working on from time to time but I can’t accept anymore. Thanks for your patience those that are still waiting for theirs.
For the time being I will only be doing commissions at conventions. To tell you the truth, conventions have always been hard for me because I try to do sketches for everyone that wants one which really is just too hard for me to physically do anymore and be happy with them. I really want to hand out my best work to fans. I will be taking a list at the shows, first come first serve. I’ll only take on 5 commissions a day. These commissions are going to be like what you’ve seen me post recently, Here are examples> EVE and INVINCIBLE , SUPERSKRULL , INVINCIBLE , Eve vs CONQUEST . Extra characters will be more expensive.
These will be $100 a piece. I have paper I take with me or I can do them on a paper of your choice, even your own sketchbook.
I know most people want sketches at shows and I’m sorry it’ll be a little more difficult to get sketches from me from now on but I need to try and keep a little sanity at these shows and accept the amount of work I can do and do well in that amount of time. I will always have prints with me, also Original pages and original sketches, some that were printed in my sketchbook that is still available. I am down to about 50 copies left that I’ll be taking with me to shows. I won’t be re-printing these again. I’d like to do a new sketchbook for this year but with all the work I’ve had to do last year I don’t have much art that is non-work related that I could compile into a proper sketchbook. So I might have to wait another year to make an all new one.
Emerald City Comicon March 13-14
San Diego Comicon July 21-25
Project Comicon2 Maryland Heights, Missouri Sept. 18-19
I’ll add more when I figure out which cons fit my schedule.
Thanks!

Crap, I’m lagging on posting again. Gotta put a stop to that.
Here’s the pencils and inks to the cover of Invincible 72. As you can see Dexter Vines inked this cover for me! Dex is one of my favorite inkers of all time. So yeah, this kind of stuff really makes me happy. Thanks Dex! And of course you can see more of Dexter Vines on many Marvel titles, I love when he teams up with Ed McGuiness to form “EDEX”. You can also check out his works here> DEVIANTART.

I’ve decided to leave Haunt, full info over at Comic Book Resources HERE! CLICK IT!
I gotta show some art from my last issue for you, here’s a panel from issue 5.

A recent commission done with pencil/ink and Copic/Touch markers, and some white acrylic ink.

I normally don’t accept commissions at home but for some reason the Baltimore con last year got me into it. Thanks to you all that are waiting for one, I will get to them all SOON! I finally made time for this one!

Some stuff. I did a signing recently here in Utah at Dr. Volt’s comic connection. Had a lot of fun, did a lot of sketching. Someone sent a scan of a sketch I did for them, I was only doing quick pencil sketches so forgive the roughness. And also forgive the fact that I just can’t draw the Thing. I’ve never drawn him before other than a pin-up I did a while ago of Hulk punching him to yellow rocks and goo. Yeah Thing aint my fave character, Sorry to you Fantastic 4 fanboys. I can’t take credit for the idea since this is what the guy asked for, I thought it genius!

Here’s a double page splash panel from issue 4 of HAUNT. Layout(top panel) is done by Greg Capullo, bottom panel is my pencils. It’s a lot of fun working off Greg, he really knows how to set up a really energetic composition.

You probably already know but Cory Walker and Nate Bellegarde are doing a post a day on their blogs this year(click their names to see!).
I love it when they do this, It’s always inspiring. I REALLY wish I could do it along with them, maybe some year I’ll get around to it. I’ll definitely try and post more often though, maybe once a week at least? Baby steps, right?

Some covers for you. Hope you all have some nice holidays!
Pencils and inks by me, colors by FCO Plascencia.

Here’s the cover Erik Larsen and I did for Invincible Returns 1. Had a lot of fun with this one.
Larsen did this pic for Robert at a con one day. And Robert comes to me and says “Yep, I’m gonna have YOU ink it.” I said “hells yes I wills!” And I went to town on it, basically I printed his pencils in blueline then changed what I wanted, added things here and there, just beefing the pic up a bit with a blue pencil, then I inked it. So technically this is a collaboration cover, not really a straight up he drew it, I inked it kinda cover. Tons of fun though, I love drawing over Larsen. I always shrink his fists considerably but they still look huge, and that’s awesome! HAHA!

A couple Haunt covers I finished recently. Pencils and inks by me, Colors by FCO Plasencia.

Here’s some of the work I’ve done for HAUNT. The layout is done by Greg Capullo, this process speeds things up a lot so I can get two books done a month. I then print out the layout on bristol board and draw my finished pencils on top.
The second page shown I changed a lot of the layout as you can see, just wanted a more energetic pose and to drop those faces coming at you in the foreground. Hope ya dig the peek at the process!
Later.

Another commission from Baltimore, I had to do this at home since I didn’t finish in time at the con. Woe is me.

This was a request from Baltimore, remember in issue 60 with the alternate dimension Invincibles? Well this particular one said he killed Spawn in his own dimension, so the sketch buyer asked for this scene.
