Steve Irwin Day. November 15.

Khaki is more than a colour. It’s an attitude. It’s a stand to do something positive in our world and a passion to make a difference.

And when you make a difference – you KHAKI IT!

This Steve Irwin Day, November 15, wear khaki and make a donation to continue Steve’s legacy. Follow the link for more information and KHAKI IT!

Australia’s national icon dying of disease

Koalas are rapidly heading towards extinction. Although habitat loss and fragmentation is a leading cause in koala population declines, disease is contributing significantly to the extinction of smaller populations within Queensland and northern New South Wales.

The Australian Wildlife Hospital is heading up a team of researchers and ecologists to carry out research into diseases like Chlamydia and the koala retrovirus.

We are calling on all Australians to help fund this research to help save our koalas.

We need 6,000 Australians to become ‘KOALA CRUSADERS’. Any donation over $80 receives a limited edition Koala Crusader key ring and certificate for their valuable contribution to koala research.

Help save our koalas now! The Australian Wildlife Hospital has the resources; all that is needed is the funding.

Donate today!

Save Steve's Place

Here at Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors, we know all about fighting to save wildlife and habitat.

The Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve, in Queensland's Cape York, is particularly close to our hearts, because it is home to a number of vulnerable species of wildlife and plants including:

  • Spear-toothed Sharks;
  • Estuarine Crocodiles;
  • Palm Cockatoos;
  • Spotted Cuscus; and
  • Pitcher Plants.

Currently, the 135,000 hectare Reserve, which is home to the Wenlock River, is being threatened by a mining company wanting to strip mine for bauxite.

This Reserve is legacy to the Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin – and we need your help!

We are inviting all Wildlife Warriors to sign the petition to Save Steve's Place.

Visit the Australian Wildlife Hospital located next to Australia Zoo. Take a behind-the-scenes tour and witness the life saving work of the vets as they strive to save our precious wildlife. Or, hire the hospital conference centre for your next business meeting or conference. All proceeds from tours and conference centre hire go directly to the Australian Wildlife Hospital.
