airplane, which is suitable for frequent short and medium range operation
between big hubs and regional cities. It is applied with modern design concept,
technologies and innovations as well as first-class airborne equipment. It has
large cabin space and provides quiet and comfortable flight environment for
passengers among the same class airplane. It can operate on unpaved or
semi-prepared runways (such as soil, grass, gravel), with good STOL performance,
self-power supply for engine start, air conditioning driven by APU on the

airworthiness regulations the aircraft meets? The MA60 aircraft meets Chinese Civil Aviation
Regulation (CCAR) Part 25R2 issued on Dec. 18 1995 which is equivalent to FAR
Part 25. MA60 is granted by Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) the
Type Certificate in June 2000 and Production Certificate in December

Airworthiness - How to ensure the
manufacturing airworthiness conformity? According to CCAR Part 183, Civil Aviation
Administration of China (CAAC) designates Group of DER<Designated Engineering
Representative>and Group of DMIR<Designated Manufacturing Inspection
Representative>in Xi'an Aircraft Company. DER and DMIR carried out the
airworthiness inspection and issued the airworthiness tags under the
authorization of CAAC. back

Altitude - What is the altitude limitation
for taking off? CAAC now has certified MA60 with the altitude
limitation of 2400 meters above sea level. XAC is planning to get the
certification for 3500 meters by end of 2005 or in the beginning of

designed to be convertible for cargo services? The manufacturer is capable to modify the aircraft
upon request before delivery and the detail requirements need to be clarified

Configuration - What is configuration option
for seats layout? MA60 aircraft has various seats layout ready for
operator's option. The cabin can be arranged as 52, 56 or 60 seats. back

Delivery Time - What is the delivery time
normally? The normal delivery time of MA60 is 12-18 months
after the effective date of purchase contract. It also depends on the detailed
operational requirements of specific customer. back

Design - What is the design
standard? MA60's design was governed by China Civil Aviation
Regulation (CCAR) part 25R2 COMMERCIAL AIRCRAFT AIRWORTHINESS STANDARD issued on
December 18th 1995, which is equivalent to FAR part 25. back

Development - How the aircraft
developed? XAC has developed Y7 transport aircraft in 1987 and
upgraded it to be Y7-100 in 1988. The cargo version Y7H-500 was derived from Y7
series aircraft family and received Type Certificate in 1994. The Y7-200A was
developed and granted Type Certificate in 1998 with new P&WC engine. MA60 is
derived from Y7-200A by the application of better performance engine,
state-of-the-art avionics package and new maintenance methodology. back

ELT - Can the aircraft equipped with
ELT? MA60 is not equipped with Emergency Locator
Transmitter (ELT). The customer may provide self-contained ELT as a Customer
Furnished Equipment (CFE) and XAC can provide support bracket in the cabin for

GPWS - Is the aircraft equipped with
GPWS? MA60 is equipped with Mk VIII Enhanced Ground
Proximity Warning System (EGPWS) manufactured by Honeywell, which is smaller,
lighter, and uses a configuration module and a non-ARINC form factor. Its'
Worldwide Terrain Database is suitable for Business and General Aviation

MyFleet - What is the usage of MyFleet and
how to apply for it? MyFleet is a customized portal that dedicated to the
end user of MA60. Each end user, in case he purchases the aircraft from CATIC,
he will be granted a username and password that enable him to enter the portal
through www.MA60.com and obtain the
necessary information for the operation and service of its' MA60 aircraft. The end user who
has MA60 obtained from a source other than CATIC, has to send the e-mail to
customer-service@ma60.com

Modification - How the manufacturer support
the modification requested by the local civil airworthiness
authority? The Customer can propose their detailed requests for
modifications and CATIC/XAC will fully support the customer in both engineering
consultation and field service. back

Number of Aircraft - How many MA60 in
service? There are nearly 20 aircraft in service for both
airlines and military services by the end of 2004. The Y7 aircraft family has
more than 200 aircraft.
Publication - What is the publication system
and whether it is in CD? The technical publication meets ATA-100 standard and
includes Aircraft Flight Manual(AFM), Master Minimum Equipment List(MMEL),
Maintenance Review Board Report(MRBR), Quick Check List(QCL), Weight and Balance
Manual(WBM), Airplane Maintenance Manual(AMM), Aircraft Illustrated Parts
Catalog(IPC), Airplane Wiring Manual(AWM), Maintenance Task Cards(MTC),
Maintenance Planning Document(MPD) and etc. It also includes the operation and
maintenance manual for engine, propeller, APU and airborne components. XAC
generates a kind of advanced interactive technical electronic publication system
in CDs delivered along with the aircraft. back

Spares Order- What is spare part order
procedures? The spares order is categorized in AOG order, Rush
Order and Annual Order with dispatching time of 48 hours, three months and 8-10

Seats - Can the customer change the materials
of seats? The customer may request to change the surface
materials of seats and such modification can be done in the manufacturer. The
materials have to be certified by CAAC before the modification. back

Security Door - Is security door installed in
the aircraft? Security door between the cabin and the cockpit is a
mandatory requirement of CAAC for all passenger airplanes in China. All MA60 is
equipped with security door. back

Supply - Is there any spares warehouse out of
China? Out of China, CATIC has established regional spare
parts warehouse in Pakistan, Singapore, Kenya, Mali, Peru and Fiji. The setup of
warehouse in Zimbabwe is under discussion. back

Survey - Is technical survey available before
the induction of MA60 airplane? The MA60 initial technical survey includes
adaptability analysis, air-route analysis, capabilities upgrading, materials
support and facilities innovation, etc. If requested, CATIC and XAC may dispatch
a professional team for MA60 initial technical survey at customer site and
provide the corresponding report after the survey.

TCAS - Is TCAS installed in the
aircraft? MA60 is equipped with CAS 67A manufactured by
Honeywell. Honeywell's new CAS 67A TCAS II Enhanced/ACAS II for corporate and
regional aviation is the first system of its type to receive FAA Technical
Standard Order (TSO) approval. In addition to meeting international ACAS II
standards for collision avoidance, the CAS 67A TCAS II offers two levels of
protection in today's increasingly complex flight environment. First, it serves
as a moving line of defense against midair collisions. Second, it dramatically
increases situational awareness on the flight deck. back

Trainees - How many trainees will attend the
training? For each MA60 aircraft, the quota is 4 pilots, 8
maintenance crew, and 2 stewards/stewardesses. One or two people may be sent to
the manufacturer for dispatcher training for each batch of training. back

Training - How many training courses
available? The CAAC licensed training center can provide
co-pilot initial training, co-pilot conversion training, captain initial
training, captain conversion training, pilot recurring training, maintenance
training Level I to Level IV, attendant training and dispatcher training. The
short-term technical sessions might be arranged for the customer as a kind of
in-depth technical training. back

Vendor Supplied Equipment (VSE) - Can the
customer purchase VSE spare parts directly from original
manufacturer? MA60 aircraft is equipped with a great quantity of
vendor-supplied equipment from many famous brand manufacturers, such as Pratt
and Whitney Canada, Honeywell, Collins, Hamilton Sundstrand and etc. The
customers have the alternative way to buy the spares parts from the manufacturer
of component directly or from the supplier of the aircraft. back
