Best Original Soundtrack -- Valkyria Chronicles

Classical music may not be all the rage with kids these days, but videogame soundtracks are still home to excellent examples of this style of composition. Composer and musician Hitoshi Sakimoto's body of work includes the scores for such games as Final Fantasy Tactics, Vagrant Story, Radiant Silvergun, and last year's Odin Sphere. This year, his music for Valkryia Chronicles particularly impressed us, with its stirring and sweeping themes and rich orchestral performances. This is a soundtrack filled with emotion that remains cohesive throughout, utilizing multiple interpretations on the powerful main theme's melody. It's definitely worth a listen.
