At Penn Vet, we enroll the brightest applicants to build our greatest legacy—our graduates.
Each one strengthens our reputation as a superb institution and defines the veterinary and comparative medicines of the future. They are the healers, researchers, teachers and leaders who will uncover tomorrow’s next opportunity.
Since 1887 nearly 6,000 veterinarians have graduated from Penn Vet. The Class of 2007 numbered 104: 85 women and 19 men. The degree of Veterinariae Medicinae Doctoris (VMD) is a badge that honors our School's roots in Penn's School of Medicine, as well as the principle of Many Species, One MedicineTM —that human and animal health are interrelated. A Penn Vet graduate is easily identified by the VMD behind the name.
