The Turkish Angora Fanciers International, or TAFI, is a Cat Fanciers Association (CFA) -

affiliated breed club.  We are a group bound by one thing - our love for the Turkish Angora cat. 

Their boundless energy and loyal devotion to their owners provides a unique pet that is truly unlike any other.  And, if you're as smitten with the breed as we are, TAFI is the perfect group for you!

You don't have to be a breeder -

or even an owner - to join TAFI.  Anyone who is an admirer and fancier of this rare and wonderful breed is welcome to apply for membership.

 

We welcome breeders, exhibitors, owners, and anyone who simply loves the Turkish Angora cat.  If you have a desire to contribute to the promotion and the continuing preservation of the breed, you are welcome in TAFI!

Through affiliation with CFA, one of our goals is to produce Turkish Angora breed shows.  By doing so, we will be able to reach and educate the public about our beautiful and rare breed of cat. 

The Turkish Angora is believed by many to be the oldest longhair breed of cat in the world.  Living for centuries on the streets of modern-day Ankara, the breed was believed to have been inter-bred into extinction by the mid-1940s.

But the country and government of Turkey so loved their treasured cat

that it created a closed breeding colony in the zoo in Ankara in 1917. Through this program, the breed was saved from extinction and preserved -  to our present-day delight!  We are eternally grateful to the government of Turkey and we endeavor to play our part in the continuing preservation of this rare and treasured breed of cat!

 

Because TAFI is a CFA-affiliated club, we will require membership dues.  Use the links to the right to read our Constitution, By-laws, and Code of Ethics.  There is also a link to an on-line version of our membership application form and instructions on how to join the club!  

You have the option of two levels of membership: 

Associate membership is available at a cost of $5.00 annually.  This will provide you with access to our on-line list and receipt of our regular publications. 

Regular membership is available for $15.00 annually.  As a regular member, you enjoy the same benefits of our Associate members, plus you may vote on club and CFA-related issues.

Both levels of membership will make you a member of a CFA-affiliated, show-producing club!
