Jersey Boys Begins Chicago Run Oct. 5

By Ernio Hernandez
05 Oct 2007

Drew Gehling, Jeremy Kushnier and Jarrod Spector — who played The Four Seasons in the San Francisco engagement of Jersey Boys — repeat their roles alongside Michael Ingersoll as the Chicago run of the hit musical begins Oct. 5.

Presented in Chicago by Broadway In Chicago and TheatreDreams, Jersey Boys plays the LaSalle Bank Theatre for a run that was previously extended through April 13, 2008.

Tickets are available at the LaSalle Bank Theatre box office and through the Broadway in Chicago Ticket Line, (312) 902-1400. Group sales are available (for 20 or more) at (312) 977-1710.

Hometown star Michael Ingersoll takes on the role of Nick Massi, joining Gehling as Bob Gaudio, Kushnier as Tommy DeVito and Spector as Frankie Valli.

The ensemble includes Dominic Bogart, Lyndsey Cole, John Michael Coppola, John Michael Dias, Mike Erickson, Steven M. Goldsmith, Craig Laurie, John Hickman, Lauren Marshall, Kraig McCreary, Rashad Naylor, Jenny Lee Ramos, Jake Speck, Kara Tremel, Chuck Webb, Jonathan Weir and Ryan Quinn West.

Des McAnuff (The Who's Tommy, Big River) directs and Sergio Trujillo choreographs the story of American pop group The Four Seasons — the highs, the lows and all in between.

Jersey Boys features music by Bob Gaudio, lyrics by Bob Crewe, and a book by Marshall Brickman & Rick Elice. The production garnered four Tony Award wins: for stars John Lloyd Young and Christian Hoff, lighting designer Howell Binkley and for the top prize Best Musical.

The design team includes Klara Zieglerova (scenic), Jess Goldstein (costume), Howell Binkley (lighting), Steve Canyon Kennedy (sound), Michael Clark (projections) and Charles LaPointe (wig and hair design). Steve Orich handles orchestrations while Ron Melrose takes on music direction, vocal arrangements and incidental music.

The Jersey Boys tour is produced by Dodger Theatricals, Joseph J. Grano, Tamara and Kevin Kinsella, Pelican Group, in association with Latitude Link and Rick Steiner.
