FAREWELL MESSAGE FROM DAGBS

Dear Broadcasters, Colleagues and Friends,
Today witnesses the final acts of an exceptional 15th Asian Games Doha 2006, an event that
DAGBS has been extremely proud to be part of. The Asian Games have seen the introduction
of new technologies and innovations, including the success of the High Definition
coverage of some key sports, helping to create an important broadcast milestone and a
benchmark from which future Asian Games can flourish.
DAGBS would specifically like to thank the following parties for being a part of The Games Of
Your Life:
DAGOC, whose vision, and hard work throughout the last three years has allowed the
Games to be the best ever. The guidance given to DAGBS by Director General Abdulla K. Al
Qahtani, Deputy Director General, Operations Yousef Mohamed Al Othman and all DAGOC
Directors, and especially Director of Media and Broadcast Patrick Furlong, has been crucial.
All of the Rights Holders who have broadcast a fantastic Asian Games throughout the
continent. Your feedback has been essential in DAGBS’ progress and we trust that DAGBS
helped you show the world the wonderful hospitality and exceptional enthusiasm provided
by the State of Qatar.
And, of course, each and every person on the DAGBS staff. The more than 2,000 members
of the event-time team, hailing from a total of 55 countries, worked tirelessly and with
great application and dedication. It has been a true honour for us to lead this veritable dream
team.
