Epee Extravaganza
One of the biggest, if not the, Epee events on the Island with every year has been an A event. Usually drawing some of the top people in the country looking for a good bout, this event is now in its 5th year with past Champions being 2006: Justin Meehan, 2005: Michael Dreyfus 2004: Katrina Trozpeck 2003, 2002, Ben Hardt 2001
Joe Amodemo Foil Open
Formerly known as the Fabulous Foil, this event was started by National Champion and former coach of Brentwood Women’s fencing Joe Amodemo who after seeing the success of the Epee Extravaganza demanded a foil tournament of equal size. Ranging from a B to an A every year, it is known to draw foilists of all sizes, and round is a shape, to compete in a friendly, fun filled environment as is Mr. Amodemo’s personality.
The Attila Petschauer
This Event has been held at various locations for the past 12 years, but for the past four have been at FCLI. Attila Petschauer lived during one of man’s darker times yet was one of the brightest people. A Hungarian Olympic Gold and Silver Medallist in sabre,he was murdered in the Holocaust. When his descendant, Doctor Richard Markowitz took up fencing, his family told him stories of his relative, Doctor Markowitz could not allow his memory to fade away. Known across the country as one of the top Sabre events for not only its fencing but its history, it is an event that is looked forward to every year so that we may look back on the past.
Sophmore Circuit
A four event circuit held during the winter season has seen the start of many great fencing careers. This event is designed to give underclassmen in high school a chance to compete in order to gain invaluable experience so that they may become better fencers and improve the depth of fencing on the Island. One of the biggest age restricted events on the island with competitors coming from many states away in order to bout against those of similar age and experience. Using a point system there are individual tournament champions as well as a points champions. The fourth and final leg of the series is Junior Seniors Strike Back, which invites all those who have competed in years past to who are now juniors and seniors in high school, to compete and raise the level of competition up a notch.
Mel Wichick Sabre Open
Following The Epee Extravaganza and The Joe Amodemo Open is a difficult task yet this event is managed to do that in just its first year. Mel Wichick was the Coach of Walt Whitman Fencing for 20 plus years and was one of the coaches to inspire others to Coach. Two of his former students are currently Head Coaches at different programs one of whom; Justin Meehan, is at Walt Whitman taking the reins of the program over from Coach Wichick when he retired. His children also fenced collegiality and became coaches on the high school level. A B1 in its first year is a great start, but in years coming we expect this event to be on every sabre fencers calendar.

The Valkryie Women's Open
This event marks the first Women only event on Long Island. FCLI always a forerunner in competitive ideas, held this event to promote women fencing. We had a B event in the epee and had good numbers in the foil and sabre as well we hope that this event grows in size and skill every year as women’s fencing is one of the fastest growing ways for women to compete in organized sports.
