It has been my honor and pleasure to have served you for these past six
years. A lot has happened
during this period. Our downtown is flourishing and developing
a life of it's own again. The focus we have placed upon it has "paid
off." After all, it is our only chance to make a first impression
when visitors come to our city!
Although it is imperative that we remain
ever vigilant and see to it that the momentum we started does not stall,
it is now time to turn our focus toward the inland portions of our great
city.
These are the areas where our growth is
happening. In eastern Oceanside there is much to be done but
it must be done with a balance among quality of life issues and the growth
and progress that is coming. We need more fire stations, parks, recreation, and community centers for all our
residents, especially more for our seniors. We have moved our police station more inland and have
opened a brand new branch library, but this is only a start. As your
mayor, my focus over the next four years will be upon the eastern portion
of our city from border to border
to border!
