Using Fall/Winter 2012-2013 trends select a silhouette & create a moodboard to support your design. In consultation with your tutor choose a pattern and fabric to create your statement in red. You will buy fabric & all notions, create the dress in muslin for fit & then in your chosen fabric. Record your inspirations & progress on your blog.

Face Value opens at Hong Kong gallery Contemporary by Angela Li on February 9th. The exhibition features work by British artist Nina Fowler who explores the gap between fantasy & reality in classic Hollywood glamour images. Oh & by the way the gallery is at 90-92 Hollywood Road!
Vanity Fair‘s March 2012 Hollywood cover is a three panel foldout featuring eleven modern starlets in delicious pastel satin gowns reminiscent of 1930s movie stars. Sometimes it’s about the clothes, sometimes it’s about the designers and then again sometimes it’s all about the models. As part of their Fashion in Motion series London’s V&A museum is hosting a boutique-style performance where Olivier Saillard creative director of Palais Galliera- one of my favourite Paris museums- will explore the evolution of the fashion pose working with a team of models. Catch it at the V&A on Friday 20th January or on the live V&A Channel broadcast at 15:00 & 17:00 GMT.
London’s Fashion & Textile Museum is also paying homage to the art of the fashion model until 25th February with an exhibition Catwalk to Cover: a Frontrow Seat that traces the creative process of fashion show production.
