Farmington’s Downtown Art and Market Scene
Experience the charm of historic downtown Farmington, New Mexico, with seasonal events that celebrate local art and community spirit.
From June through October in Farmington, experience the excitement of local artisan and entrepreneurial events.
Farmington Growers’ Market, 2025
Bringing locally grown produce to Farmington and its surrounding communities, the 2025 Farmington Growers’ Market will be held at the Farmington Museum & Visitor Center on the following dates:
- Saturdays, June 21, 2025, through November 1, 2025, from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. Please note: during the final month of October, the Saturday market will open one hour later, from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.)
- Tuesdays, at 4 – 6 p.m., July 1 – October 28
Downtown Makers’ Market, 2025
Downtown Makers’ Market started in Farmington in the summer of 2024. Its 2025 events will take place in Orchard Park Plaza, Farmington, every Thursday from June 5 – September 25, 2025, from 3 to 7 p.m.

These weekly summer markets on Orchard Avenue and Orchard Plaza are a great way to support local artisans and growers, with unique finds, home décor, collectibles, fresh produce, baked goods, handmade jewelry, antiques, vintage, and repurposed items.
Downtown Art Walks
The Northwest New Mexico Arts Council brings Main Street to life with the Downtown Art Walk on select Friday nights, in the Farmington Historic Downtown MainStreet Arts and Cultural District. Many non-art-related businesses host local artists inside their downtown locations while other artists will show their works in outdoor booths. Below is the 2025 Art Walk schedule:

Music for Masada
Saturday, May 10, 2025 | 5 – 9 p.m. | Farmington Civic Center
A fund-raising evening of food, festivity, and local musicians, all in support of the local cause “Empowering Women in Recovery.” All proceeds benefit the Masada House, a local nonprofit that provides transitional housing and a supportive community for women who have completed inpatient or outpatient substance abuse treatment.
Animas River Jam
May 23, 24, & 25, 2025
The Animas River Jam features live music with diverse music genres, a beer and wine garden, food, and family activities at Boyd Park. Admission is free, bring blankets or chairs to sit back and enjoy the music. Last year’s event was held at the Terraces behind the Farmington Museum; this year’s event may be at Berg Park, Animas Park, Boyd Park, behind the Farmington Museum, or at one of the other riverside parks in Farmington.
In 2024, a free fishing derby was held from 8 to 11 a.m. at Veterans Park, with the City of Farmington stocking the river prior to the event. Prizes will be awarded for different age categories. Check back for 2025 updates with the River Reach Foundation, supporting our watersheds.
Farmington Jazz Festival
Saturday, July 19, 2025 | 3 – 8 pm | Orchard Park Plaza*
This free festival of great jazz continues the historic tradition of Navajo cornetist, educator, and band director Jacob C. Morgan (1879 – 1950), who often played free concerts at Orchard Park. An accomplished musician, he also toured with several military bands and helped form the Navajo Nation Band in Shiprock, New Mexico.
The festival begins with a free panel/workshop at 11 a.m. with Delbert Anderson and Julia Keefe at the Totah Theater, followed by the outdoor Jazz Fest at Orchard Park from 3 to 8 p.m., featuring local youth ensembles, jazz bands, combos, quartets, and artist panels. Live jazz continues off-hours at The Chile Pod (121 W. Main St.), with a special appetizers menu and bar (for purchase), just around the corner and across the street from Orchard Park Plaza.
*In the event of rain, the festival will move to the Totah Theater (315 W. Main).
Small Business Saturday in Farmington
Mark your calendars for a special event on Saturday, November 29, 2025, when Small Business Saturday is held in Historic Downtown Farmington to kick off the holiday shopping season. Delicious cookies, great art, live music, and hometown spirit –– this holiday celebration turns Historic Main Street into an open-air holiday market to encourage shoppers to keep their dollars local.
A Cookie Crawl takes place from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. where you can visit participating shops to collect a different holiday cookie, enjoy in-store specials, and vote for your favorite downtown holiday-decorated window.

Family-friendly and admission-free, Riverfest is an annual event on the banks of the Animas River. It is organized by the River Reach Foundation with the mission to protect, promote, and enhance our river corridors, trails, and watersheds.
This festival showcases a wide number of diverse musical acts, as well as food vendors, beer and wine gardens, gourd and Apache dancers, car shows, a recycled fashion show, and races galore, including a 10K race, a duck race, and even a weiner dog race. With activities for all ages, everyone can soak up the community spirit and enjoy live music and art in the park.
Macaroni & Cheese Festival of the Four Corners

The Macaroni & Cheese Festival of the Four Corners in Farmington, New Mexico, is a cheesy celebration at Berg Park Pavilion, where local chefs compete to celebrate everyone’s favorite comfort food, and create the best macaroni and cheese.

This fun festival brings together local chefs and restaurants, each offering their own creative take on the classic dish. Visitors can expect to sample a wide range of mac and cheese variations. Traditional recipes will be shared, along with gourmet and innovative versions with unexpected flavor combinations.
General admission tickets allow unlimited tastings of craft drinks, a cocktail plate for mac and cheese samples, music, games (even a mechanical bull), and two voting tokens for your favorite dishes. Due to alcohol being served, this event is 21 and over. Featuring live music, plus local vendors and artisans, Farmington’s Macaroni & Cheese Festival benefits the Boys & Girls Club of San Juan County.
Connie Mack World Series: Celebrating Youth Baseball

Summertime means baseball, and Farmington becomes the center of the youth baseball universe for a week in July. Experience the passion at the Connie Mack World Series, an annual showcase of top amateur baseball talent since 1965. Held at Rickett’s Park, youth ages 16 – 18 compete for the national title, with games throughout the week and a festive parade to kick things off.
Named after the legendary baseball manager, this tournament in Farmington celebrates America’s love for baseball, while spotlighting the skills of young athletes.
2025 San Juan County Fair and Carnival

The San Juan County Fair and Carnival, held at McGee Park in Farmington, NM, is more than just an event; it’s a celebration of community and agricultural prowess. At KidsFest, children and their families can enjoy a variety of activities –– games, interactive booths, sports challenges, arts and crafts, educational exhibits, and live performances. The event is a fantastic opportunity for kids to learn new things, express their creativity, and engage in healthy, active play.
Totah Festival: Celebrate Native American Culture

The 36th Annual Totah Festival & Indian Market in Farmington is an extraordinary event that honors the artistic and cultural contributions of Native American communities. Each year, the festival hosts the much-anticipated Indian Market, where visitors can purchase unique, hand-crafted items directly from artists, fostering an appreciation for authentic Native American art. The festival also features a juried competition, highlighting the exceptional talent of local artisans.
Celebrate Native American artistry at the Farmington Civic Center with the Indian Market, juried art competitions, a Navajo rug auction, powwows and gourd dances, storytelling, and the Run the River 5K.

Four Corners 4×4 Week

Celebrate Farmington’s off-road community during the Four Corners 4×4 Week in early September. Highlights include the Fall Crawl 2025 with three days of off-road fun through Chokecherry Canyon and Largo Canyon Indian Ruin Run (September 3 – 5, 2025), and the Friday night, September 5, Off-Road Downtown Takeover.
This week-long event is highly anticipated by off-road, lowrider, and classic car devotees, featuring a shop, swap, and sell auto parts meet, a judged car and truck show, and the World Extreme (W.E.) Rock Crawling Grand Nationals final showdown on Saturday and Sunday.
Four Corners Film Festival

This annual event showcases three days of independent films, with short films, animation, documentaries, regional films, and special premiere screenings. The 2025 dates have yet to be confirmed but last year’s was held September 12 – 14, 2024.
