Peter Krause is an American actor known for his television roles on series such as "Six Feet Under," "Parenthood" and "9-1-1." Born Aug. 12, 1965 in Alexandria, Minn, Krause began his college studies as a pre-medical student at Gustavus Adolphus College before taking on acting in his junior year with various stage productions. He then earned a Masters degree in acting from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. There he met Aaron Sorkin, who would create and executive produce ABC's sitcom "Sports Night"; the show only ran for two seasons, but it was Krause's first main cast role. Krause is best known for his role as Nate Fisher on HBO's "Six Feet Under" (2001-2005), for which he was nominated for three Emmys, two Golden Globes and seven SAG awards, winning twice for ensemble with his co-stars. Krause's other notable TV credits include ABC's "Dirty Sexy Monday" (2007-2009) and NBC's "Parenthood" (2010-2015). Since 2018, he has starred as Bobby Nash on Ryan Murphy's first-responder drama "9-1-1," which aired its first six seasons on Fox before moving to ABC for its seventh season in Spring 2024.
