"Bridgerton" is a Netflix show created by Shonda Rhimes based on the bestselling romance novels by Julia Quinn. Set during Regency-era England, the TV series follows the stories of the Bridgerton family, primarily focusing on the lives and love stories of the eight children: Anthony (Jonathan Bailey), Benedict (Luke Thompson), Colin (Luke Newton), Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor), Eloise (Claudia Jessa), Francesca (Ruby Stokes in Seasons 1 and 2; Francesca Hunt in Season 3), Gregory (Will Tilston) and Hyacinth (Florence Hunt). "Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story," a six-episode limited series prequel about Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel), debuted in May 2023 to rave reviews, landing on the No. 1 spot on Netflix’s Top 10 chart. “Bridgerton” was renewed for Seasons 3 and 4 in 2021; the third season, which filmed in 2022, will focus on the love story between Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan).
