The director and cinematographer has come on Hollywood’s radar in recent years by demonstrating his range. He scored a box office hit in 2024 for Universal Pictures with “Twisters,” the action-drama about storm chasers. That came after he impressed as a storyteller with 2020’s intimate family drama “Minari,” and directed an episode of Disney+ ‘s “The Mandalorian.” On the heels of “Twisters,” Chung will have no shortage of helming options in the future. At present he’s developing feature projects at Paramount Pictures and Amazon MGM Studios.
